Zimbo Films In The Studio

Late last night, Mac Kennedy, Susanne Collins and myself ventured into the studio to record Miss Collins vocals for a song to be featured in How Is One To Live?  The song, Little (Green) Men, was originally a noise rock number recorded some years ago by Dan Dickerson and myself.  The new version, arranged by Mac Kennedy, is the kind of “dark” funk one would find on The Walker Brothers LP Nite Flights, but is void of any clear melody.  So the session took on an improvisational quality; that to my surprise yielded some truly innovative vocal performances, especially from Miss Collins.  With Mac’s direction, Miss Collins quickly took to the track, giving a performance that is simultaneously sexual and foreboding.  I’d like to thank the two of them for being as wonderfully creative and daring as they are, and for their time and commitment.  Thank you.
